I've never been on a diet before. Never had the urge or the inclination. I've had those days where I've felt flabby and toyed with the idea of a diet but, muh, I've not had enough willpower to (not) bite the bullet.
And now that I am going to be a bridesmaid, and will appear in photos I can't photoshop or stage, I think it's time to lose a few kilos.
BORING!
Other people's diets are so, utterly, bloody BORING.
But I still want to tell you this bit. Now all I can think about is cake. Chocolate cake, orange semolina cake, lemon sponge, cream sponge, christmas cake, banana cake, big ones, small ones, tall ones, short ones, cake, cake, CAKE CAKE CAKE.
For the love of god, someone bring me some cake.

If you eat some dry supermarket cake that steals all your saliva so you can hardly swallow that will cure you!
Oh, no - now I'm thinking about cake too! I tend to make the recipes in my head because (a) lazy and (b) on similar diet to yours (for family trip over summer, must look good in photos etc).
I like your blog a lot. I am obsessed with 1940s-1960s everything really. And Victorian stuff too.
Lovestitches - yes, that would definitely cure me in the short term but I'm afraid that the craving would still return...
Lidian - Hrm, good idea having the recipe in your head. I just need to know how to get the thought of cake out of my head before I drive myself crazy!
Ooo, me too with the Victorian stuff. I was in my favourite ever thrift shop recently and there was a most divine Victorian silk velvet opera cape. How I wish now that I'd let myself splurge and buy it. It was in perfect condition and everything. It hadn't seen the light of day in years and years. Sigh.
