Want to know one of my little secrets? I'm athiest and I love love love icons. So much so that I collect them.
I'm fussy with my icons so I only have Mary and Jesus ones. And they have to have gold on them. Lots of gold. More is more after all.
I've come upon a little piece of heaven on earth in my lovely new home town - it's called the Holy Shop, and it is full to overflowing with icons. I picked up these two little ones yesterday and I'm already planning my next trip.

Me too! I have my "icon wall" at home. I have a very hard time not buying an icon I happen upon at a secondhand store. I'm not a believer in any sense. I just find them mystical and beautiful, simple yet profound. Yours are very pretty!

I have them too.. I had to get staunch with myself and I now only collect Mirrors (preferably in pairs) and statues..and I lean towards Mary rather than Jesus.. Im not religious at all either, I am intrigued that the images / statues were probably once worshipped by someone and then they decided they were worthless to them and donated them to a second hand shop (!).. oh and because Mary is so pretty :)......
glad to hear you are settling in by the way, was talking to Bobby the other night about how much I loved Oamaru and that I think he will get a nice surprise by it when he goes down for Remy's bday.. :)
